The 2018 Qiddiya Groundbreaking marked the first Vision 2030 project launch, led by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Our team delivered a 54,000 sqm experience in just three months—blending innovation, culture, and performance into a historic global showcase.

The Qiddiya Groundbreaking Launch Event marked a historic milestone for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the first official Vision 2030 project inaugurated, attended by His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Qiddiya, located near Riyadh, is envisioned to be the world’s largest entertainment, sports, and cultural destination. Our entity was honored to lead the development of both the Qiddiya Visitor Experience Centre and the groundbreaking launch event under the direction of HE Dr. Fahad Toonsi, Secretary General for Qiddiya Founding Board and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.
In record time of three-month period, we designed and constructed a 54,000 square meter masterplan with semi-permanent buildings, high-end interiors, and critical infrastructure, ensuring the site’s functionality for a minimum of eight years.
The launch show was a 45-minute, fully original production that served as a theatrical journey through the pillars of Qiddiya. With total creative and technical responsibility, we executed all aspects of the show—from concept, choreography, and set design to projection mapping, lighting, international casting, and wardrobe. The immersive stage design integrated natural mountain vistas with advanced technology, including embedded platforms and trampolines for acrobatics. A breathtaking finale revealed the actual mountains behind the stage, illuminated dramatically and framed by an Olympic- level fireworks and laser display.
Music was at the heart of the event, with an original orchestral score titled the “Qiddiya Suite” composed and conducted by Oscar-nominated maestro William Ross. The piece was recorded at Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra and performed live by the Prague Philharmonic during the event. It captured the spirit and cultural depth of the Kingdom and is now the enduring theme of Qiddiya. The event was broadcast live across major networks including MBC, CNN, and BBC, positioning Qiddiya—and Vision 2030—on the global stage while celebrating the Kingdom’s bold leap toward a diversified, culturally rich future.
